MAGAZINE EDITORS JOIN FORCES FOR AUCTION BENEFITTING THE UNITED
WAY
EDITORS-IN-CHIEF FROM HEARST’S TOP MAGAZINES DONATE THEIR
PERSONAL DESIGNER ITEMS TO “CELEBRITY CLOSET RAIDERS”
(New York, NY) – December 1, 2005 - Hearst Magazines
announced today that the editors-in-chief from its 19 consumer
magazines, including Cosmopolitan, Esquire, Harper’s
Bazaar, Marie Claire and Town & Country, will come together
to donate designer items from their personal collections to
“Celebrity Closet Raiders” – a company that
sells pre owned designer clothing for celebrities. “Celebrity
Closet Raiders” founder Regina Russell will work with
the Hearst editors to collect designer clothing and accessories,
which will be auctioned off on eBay to benefit The United
Way.
Proceeds will benefit The United Way (http://national.unitedway.org),
an organization whose mission is to improve lives by mobilizing
the caring power of communities. Through an annual company-wide
fundraising effort, Hearst Magazines has raised millions of
dollars for The United Way over the past several years.
